Neo Financial is looking for a Director, Credit Risk & Enterprise Analytics to join our team in Calgary, AB.

As the Director of Credit Risk & Enterprise Analytics, you will be responsible for leading a team of data scientists, statisticians, and analysts with a passion for using data to drive the business forward. The Manager will work with our Enterprise, Risk, and Rewards Analytics teams to build best in class processes and operations across all analytical disciplines.


What you'll be doing:

  • Lead, coach and develop a team of talented analytics and credit risk professionals
  • Own credit risk strategy for Neo, monitoring the performance of Neo’s credit card and loan portfolio to manage risk and optimize returns
  • Identify and execute on opportunities to improve processes and operations across analytics teams, building towards consistency in approaches, methodologies, and analytical standards
  • Built Neo’s capability in advanced credit risk modelling and predictive analytics
  • Develop and execute a strategic analytics roadmap with a focus on capability development in the field of advanced analytics in support of Neo's business objectives
  • Triage and prioritize requests for analytical support of business initiatives
  • Develop and maintain Neo's enterprise BI strategy, ensuring reporting and self-serve data capabilities are available across the enterprise
  • Work closely with the product and engineering teams to ensure consistency and accuracy in data and metrics across the enterprise

Who we're looking for:

  • 8+ years of applicable working experience in credit risk and data analytics
  • 4+ years of people and team management within an analytical field
  • Advanced degree in statistics, mathematics, engineering, or computer science is an asset
  • Strong technical skills in Python, R, SQL, and NoSQL
  • Experience with one or more BI platforms (Looker, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Strong quantitative, analytical and conceptual problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a demanding environment
  • Exceptional drive and commitment to strive for excellence
  • High level of adaptability to a frequently changing professional and social working environment
